Each bid shall be accompanied by a certified check, bank draft, bank cashier's check or bid bond acceptable to the Owner in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the amount bid, payable without condition to the Owner as a guaranty that the Bidder, if awarded the Contract, will promptly execute the Agreement in accordance with the Proposal and the other Contract Document, and will furnish good and sufficient bond for the faithful performance of the work.
As required by the Illinois Prevailing Wage Act, the general prevailing rate of wages in the locality for each craft or type of worker or mechanic needed to execute the contract or perform such work, also the general prevailing rate for legal holiday and overtime work, as ascertained by the City of Urbana, shall be paid for each craft or type of worker needed to execute the contract or to perform such work.

Contractors are invited to submit an offer for St. Joseph-Ogden H.S. Science Lab Renovations. Offers will be received at the District Office, 301 N. Main St., St. Joseph, IL 61873 before 10 a.m. local prevailing time on Tuesday, April 18, 2017. Bids will be publicly opened and read aloud at that time.
This project contains the complete renovation of two existing science lab spaces and prep room. These rooms are located on the second floor. The renovation includes removal and replacement of existing lab casework, installation of ceilings and new flooring, replacement of electrical lighting and power, replacement of mechanical system and plumbing work.
Asbestos is present in the current lab spaces. Asbestos abatement will be held under a different bid, but coordination will need to happen with the abatement contractor.
A single stipulated sum bid will be received for all work.

Contractor shall not pay less than the prevailing rates of wages as determined by the Illinois Department of Labor to all laborers, workers and mechanics performing work under this contract, and shall comply with the requirements of the Illinois Prevailing Wage Act (820 ILCS 130/1-12).
