A glance at Class of 2015 in-state talent

Tim Beckman has said this hundreds of times.

The Illinois football coach will likely say it countless more times throughout his tenure at the school.

He wants Illinois prep players to stay home and play for the state school.

To head to Champaign-Urbana. To Memorial Stadium. To wear orange and blue.

Beckman mentions the number of in-state players each February when National Signing Day rolls around.

The early February holiday for college football fans is still 11 months away — Feb. 4, 2015 for those counting — but Illinois does already have two commitments in the Class of 2015 with Champaign Centennial quarterback Jimmy Fitzgerald and DeKalb running back Dre Brown.

Both are in-state talents.

It doesn't appear that the Class of 2015 will have the same abundance of talent the Class of 2014 had in Illinois, but here's an early look at the top 20 in-state players in the Class of 2015, according to Rivals.com.

Any reason why Gabe Megginson's name is not on this list? Coach Beckman has stated that offensive linemen and running backs are the top priority for c/o 2015.
